Good Bye 2011

Those who know me, know that I’m not a big fan of 2011. At least near the end. The fall my favorite season ended in heartbreak and heartache, for the babies I’ll never know in this life time.

In all honesty 2011 was probably not the worst of my years here on earth. I got a job, which despite the hours I like, I didn’t lose the weight but I didn’t gain any more than what I already had. I got a new used new to me car. I’m fostering Tybalt who is a sweet kitty and beautiful kitty, despite his claws which are right now in claw caps so not to hurt us. Derek and I are still together 2+ years and I still love him. I have had a good 2011 even if it doesn’t seem like it.

I’m still going to say Kiss my arse when you leave 2011 because 2012 is going to kick it otherwise. (As long as the world doesn’t end that is)

Tybalt!

Fitting into this household is getting better almost every day that he is here. He has found his place among Sprite and even Quixote (neighbor cat) Sprite would rather have nothing to do with a young cat, like Tybalt. Sprite is almost 10 years old, and rather sleep and eat when he isn’t sleeping. Tybalt wants to play, but that is where Quixote comes in. They are about the same age, and so they tend to be a better match for playing with each other. When they are done playing the 2 cats go off and do their own thing. It does work out rather well.

When we first took in Tybalt he didn’t like to be held and pushed and clawed us. He now allows us to hold him, basically as much as Sprite does. It’s not a long time but it is some of the time. Tybalt even tends to snuggle next to us when we sleep, and sometimes I catch him on Derek’s lap and Derek petting him. This is even more than Sprite gives us for attention. Tybalt really has made this his home, and us his people. I am glad we took him in, and I love listening to his little meows (meeps) and his purrs. He is a sweet cat.

Summer is coming to an end….

My 32nd birthday is right around the corner, this usually means it is the end of summer, and a new school year. This year though NO SCHOOL for me. My summer has been a big blur of pure goodness and some bad. The newest things for me is that Tybalt is becoming a member of this household, and fitting in. He is really a cutie.

Things with work is fine, long hours but for the most part good. We have lost some of our employees and are trying to hire new employees. This however puts me working almost all the time. At least it seems like that.

More about Tybalt. My friend Kelly, took a job in CT and needed to find someone to care for her cats. Derek and I were able to take Tybalt in as a foster so he can be her’s when she returns back to MN. It was a rough start but it is now becoming a nicer household with him. I enjoy a kitty that likes to snuggle and doesn’t weight a million pounds. Sprite is back to hording food so he gained a lb so far, but it is being nipped in the butt quickly.

Not a lot else is going on. Derek’s dad is down at Mayo for his stem cell transplant, another good friend of the family is there as well. I’m worried about my own life, despite being well, I’m in the process of taking out a life insurance policy for myself. I guess you just never know, and I’m not leaving people cleaning up my mess if something happens. Another reason for this move is my friends dad died unexpectedly and so it’s been on my mind lately.

So, as summer is coming to an end I am sad that it is, but happy that the heat is leaving us. Fall might be my favorite season, due to the colors of the trees so that is something to look forward too.

Summer 2011

It’s been a while since I had anything worth while to write about. I’ve been busy with work, and trying to keep my life together. Don’t worry, Derek and I are fine. Yesterday, we took in a cat, to foster for a friend. I am hopeful it works out, but there are moments of doubt when he attacks Sprite. I know he is a good cat, it’s just the adjustment period. Ultimately though it will be Derek’s decision.

We did make it up to the Cabin for a day. The weather was beautiful, and it wasn’t as hot up there as it was down here in the Twin Cities.

Another thing, new with me is that I’m transiting over to Google + hopefully for good. Facebook has turned into annoying traffic. I’m always adjusting traffic on the Newsfeed, and I’m spending to much time scrolling through to find something worth reading. I’m hoping Google + takes off and that social networking will become something easier and more interesting. Google + is showing promise.

As for work, that is going well considering. We have had many days of heat, and working has been almost unbearable. Along with the heat the hours have been long. July is on it’s way out Thankfully. I hope August isn’t as warm but I’m afraid it might be.

They say history repeats itself. Apparently it didn’t take that long before our Government decided that they should (take) keep rights away from people. Here in Minnesota, it has been illegal for homosexuals to be married. This is wrong, now they want to add it to the state constitution to seal the deal. I’m confused to why this is something they feel should be done. We are moving BACKWARDS! If anything should be voted on it is to legalize gay marriage. It makes me sick that people think rights of good people should be taken away. People who only want to marry and have the same rights as everyone else. No one voted that I can marry, it was a given right. This to me, isn’t fair. I’m sadden that in November 2012 I have to vote NO to this amendment, and not YES to legalizing gay marriage.

There are a lot of excuses they say, that gay marriage should be illegal. To me not one excuse is justified. It is all a big amount of BULL SHIT! How is 2 people who love each other, marrying ruin American values and families, when most of the people who are making this difficult for equality, are having affairs, are on their 2, 3 of 4th marriage? How is that not ruining American families?

It seemed that, in Minnesota decided they needed a distraction instead of balancing the budget. Well NEWS flash if you legalized gay marriage, there would be a flux in wedding planning, and lots of spending for weddings, that would create or save jobs in bakeries, wedding sights, bridal shops, catering, possibly tux shops, decorations. MY GOD that would help our economy.

I’m just angered that, this is a fight that shouldn’t have to happen, this is taking away rights of people, and discrimination, hate, among other choice words I’d like to use. So, if you read this, and you live in Minnesota please in Nov. 2012 Vote no to this amendment so we can move this state forward, and not be a state that takes rights away.

I would name all my friends and family that this amendment would hurt but that list is too long.

New car, well at least it’s new to me.

Yesterday, I got tired of just having 1 car. The Silver Bullet was taken away Monday and my car insurance was suspended. So, Derek and I went looking at possible cars. When we were at the one lot a Black Ford Taurus pulled in from their other lot. It ended up being in my price range, and with Derek’s help, we purchased a 2000 Black Ford Taurus SES.

It runs nice, needs some new tires but other than that it’s good. I did replace the wipers and they took care of the passenger side mirror. There are a few dings, and it wreaked of cig smoke. That is also taken care of. =)

I didn’t think I would get another Taurus but it now seems that is just meant to be for a while.

Coupons poupons, the customer isn’t always right.

(It’s early and a customer comes in wanting a bagel bucket with a $4dollars off coupon. The bucket is 13 bagels, and 2 tubs of cream cheese. Coupon is only bucket not a regular dozen)

Customer: I’d like to use this coupon

Me: Sure no problem, would you like to pick your own bagels or use one of the pre assorted bagel buckets we have)

Customer: I’ll pick my own

Me: Ok go ahead (customer gets 13 bagels of an assortment, I direct him to the retail cooler so he can pick out his cream cheese)

Me: sir you can pick out your own cream cheese right there in the cooler

Customer: I don’t want any cream cheese, if I take it I’m just going to throw it out.

Me: Ok, you are aware that the coupon is for the bucket, I’m happy to ring you for the dozen and not use the coupon.

Customer: No I want to use the coupon,

Me: Sir if you don’t want the cream cheese, the coupon won’t work, it will be cheaper for me to ring you up for the dozen, and no cream cheese and not use the coupon then it will be for me to ring you up for the bucket use the coupon and you not take the cream cheese.

Customer: If you won’t let me use the coupon, I’ll just take 6 blueberry bagels and that’s it.

(I ring him up, and he storms off,)

Coupons are wonderful, but they are not always a deal. When you use a coupon, don’t just use it because you have it. I had a pissy customer because I tried to save them some money. Whatever, it just goes down in my book as DUH and customers are not always right. ( I did submit this to the site we shall see if it gets posted.)

Compromised

This winter season, hasn’t been to kind to me. With all the storms, which is the least of my problems, other than winter lasting to god damn long. I’ve been sick more times then I have ever been in the past 5 years if not longer. I get colds and they suck and last forever well the cough does. However this year I’ve had the 24 hour bug, 2x and now a bad ass cold that is kicking my ass to the curb. All this after I started working again. I’m guessing because I’m all of a sudden surrounded by people in an area where as my previous jobs, I’m surrounded by the same people and not a variety of people, so all of a sudden, I’m exposed to big bad germs I haven’t been in contact with in years. It’s been keeping me from some day’s of work. and accomplishing things around the house. Worse thing about it is that I had happy plans for today and was looking forward to going out with my best friend and go to the science museum to see the King Tut exhibit. I had my ticket and everything and was going to hang out with Anddi. Which was the most important part of the whole day. Instead I’m home on the couch coughing up a storm and dealing with this nasty beast. There are plenty of days in my life where I just want to say FML while other day’s are fun and happening. Today is one of those FML day’s. Cutting myself off from the world on my day off sucks. I do need to get better so it is the better thing for me to do. I have to work 2 more days before another day off. If this cold gets better, I’ll be in the St. Patty’s day parade representing the Jeerleaders for the North Star Roller Girls. How fun will that be. I hope I can function come Thursday!

A tale of a spunky women

One of the great things about being in a relationship is meeting and becoming part of someone else’s family. Last Friday Derek’s aunt Margie passed away. Today was her funeral. It was more like a celebration of her life. I only knew this women for a little while, but every time I saw her, she was always full of spunk and made me feel like one of the family. She was a special one of a kind women.

I enjoyed listening to the stories of the trouble she would make and taught her nieces and nephews. I would have had a blast growing up with her as my aunt. Not that I didn’t have a lot of fun with my own.
